The team

Ana

Ana Ballin is our mechanic, and she's definitely not just lemonade! Like Flash Gordon, she is a gifted individual capable of moving at lightning speed through the vortex-workshop, performing an impressive number of actions per minute. Always with her hands in the grease (which she doesn't like) and music in her ears, Ana has a generous spirit when it comes to mechanics. She runs participatory workshops and women's mechanics training sessions. And besides, she loves the sea, can recommend tons of great books (as she used to be a bookseller in a past life), plays soccer, is learning Spanish, and rides her bike over the patriarchy.

Benjamin

Can you live several lives in one? A blend of Flanders and Brussels, Benja, Benjaflor, DJ Mukambo, aka Benjamin Tollet, is both a cycling coach, music journalist, activist, percussionist, radio programmer, DJ, photographer, cultural guide, climbing instructor, and kayaker in his spare time. From the heart of his urban forest in the northern quarter, he is our calm shaman. Proudly donning his adornments, he opens the doors to an in-between world, free from car dominance, where children ride their bikes in a cosmopolitan and joyful city!

Delphine

Delphine Metten has about 187 strings to her bow (which she carries in the most peaceful way possible, of course). Our bike instructor and coach, endowed with boundless kindness, is undoubtedly the team member who racks up the most kilometers per week on her bike, from north to south. Whether it's windy, rainy, or snowy, she rides her brand-new Eddy Merckx, a feminist podcast in her ears, and you can be sure that pedaling will put her in a good mood. She recently discovered that she could fix a flat tire, change brake pads, or maintain a wheel hub, and she's been a different person ever since.

Edoardo

Edoardo Luppari, aka Mister MolemB, pioneer and founder, came from far-off Italy with only one idea in mind: bikes! Sometimes he's in the kitchen (coordination, partnerships, finances, team management—that's him), sometimes in the mill (smoothies and the barak à fiets, also him). Legend has it that in 2016, he had an old Koga Miyata implanted in his brain. Since then, he's bike-shaken the calm Maritime quarter, founded a mechanics workshop, and an association. While some call him a "bicycle philosopher," in reality, his militant and visionary speeches are often less digestible than a plate of spaghetti alla carbonara.

Léna

Frighteningly efficient, Léna Dumontier always transports a heap of stuff on her bike. A true cargo-femininoid, her hybrid engine runs on activist energy and collective spirit. She's our dreamy multi-tool who dabbles in everything (except accounting), wields inclusive writing with determination, and loves old bikes with a passion. She has only two flaws, both unmentionable of course. She's a serial killer of chain breakers (the fragile tool used to remove a rivet to dismantle or shorten a chain) and has a secret adoration for cars. satan la bagnole.

Mauricio

Colombian beyond compare, mechanic, rebel designer, and inventor of revolutionary machines, Mauricio Forero came from the depths of the Amazon to bring us the wisdom of "velonomy." He has traveled the length and breadth of the Americas on a rugged bike, and his tales of improbable repairs captivate his listeners. Somewhat allergic to connected bikes, he prefers beautiful, well-oiled machines from days gone by. His genius and training are now part of our workshop's DNA!

RIET

Riet Naessens is the hyperactive president of Molembike. Since 2018, Dona Rita has invested boundless energy into sharing her passion for cycling and promoting the "little queen" (the bicycle) among women from the Maritime quarter and beyond. With enthusiasm and a sense of purpose, she leads people around all corners of Brussels and knows the city like the back of her hand!
